Mandela understood the meaning of freedom changes with age and experience. When he was a young boy, he thought that he was free in every manner. He believed that he should obey his father and the customs of his tribe. But when he grew up, freedom to raise a family and freedom to earn livelihood started dominating his thoughts. Then he realized that he was selfish during his childhood. He realized that it was not just his freedom but the freedom of all blacks. It was the freedom from fear and prejudice.
